TRI 2027 Heads to Washington, DC: The Next Generation in Tinnitus Research
Washington meeting will continue the international tinnitus calendar following WTC & ITS 2027 in London
The Tinnitus Research Initiative (TRI) has announced details of its 2027 international conference, which will take place from 15–18 September 2027 at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, USA. The meeting will be hosted by the American Tinnitus Association (ATA) in collaboration with the Tinnitus Research Initiative.
TRI 2027 describes its ambition through the message, “The next generation in tinnitus research is discovered here.” The conference will bring together scientists, clinicians, healthcare professionals and patient advocates to examine emerging discoveries, technologies and clinical innovations in tinnitus research and care.
The choice of Washington, DC also places tinnitus research close to major US scientific, governmental and research-funding institutions. The American Tinnitus Association has highlighted the opportunity this creates for dialogue not only about science, but also about research funding and the wider policy environment surrounding tinnitus research.
London to Washington: A Major Year for the Global Tinnitus Community
TRI 2027 will follow less than three months after the 4th World Tinnitus Congress and XV International Tinnitus Seminar (WTC & ITS 2027), taking place in London from 30 June to 2 July 2027 under the theme “From Mechanism to Meaning: The ABC of Tinnitus.”
Together, the London and Washington meetings will make 2027 an important year for international exchange in tinnitus science and clinical care.
WTC & ITS 2027 will bring the international community together around Auditory science, Behavioural understanding and Clinical innovation, examining tinnitus from its biological mechanisms through to its lived meaning and clinical management. TRI 2027 will then provide another major international forum in Washington for presenting and discussing the latest research developments.
The two meetings reflect the breadth and growing international momentum of the tinnitus field, while providing researchers, clinicians and people with lived experience with opportunities to meet, exchange ideas and build collaborations across countries and disciplines.
TRI 2027 registration is now open, with early-bird registration available until 16 March 2027.
