Highlights from the 2025 World Tinnitus Congress: Global Progress Toward Stratified and Multimodal Tinnitus Care

The Journal of Hearing Science has published a new paper by Dr Hashir Aazh, founder of the Hashir International Institute, summarising the key scientific insights from the 2025 World Tinnitus Congress (WTC) and XIV International Tinnitus Seminar (ITS) held in Warsaw, Poland.

The article — “Key Insights from the III World Tinnitus Congress and XIV International Tinnitus Seminar: Toward Stratified and Multimodal Tinnitus Care” — reviews major advances presented at the meeting, including:

  • Progress in audiologist-delivered CBT and integrated psychological therapies
  • Discoveries in neurophysiological and somatosensory mechanisms
  • Advances in pharmacology, biomarkers, and precision surgery
  • Expansion of tele-audiology and digital self-help platforms
  • A shared vision for personalised and decentralised tinnitus care

Reflecting on the event, Dr Aazh noted:

“The Warsaw congress marked a decisive step toward a stratified and multimodal model of tinnitus management — one that unites neuroscience, psychology, and digital health innovation.”

Looking ahead, it was announced that, following a competitive bidding process, the IV World Tinnitus Congress and XV International Tinnitus Seminar will be hosted in London in 2027 by the Hashir International Institute, continuing the global momentum and collaboration driving progress in tinnitus research and care.
